I was only 15 years old when my passion for online branding sprouted. I had just started my own YouTube channel for makeup artistry and loved analyzing the feedback data just as much as making the art itself. From then on, I pursued the idea of working in digital marketing and social media. Working for prestigious companies and freelancing for the past 6 years, I proved to my clients that social media can only succeed with strong data-driven strategy to back it up. My most recent positions are working with some of the top influencers in media, news, and entertainment.

In my time assisting companies in digital marketing, I have successfully boosted their engagement and reach on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and LinkedIn through comprehensive social strategy and branding efforts. I work to curate a bespoke brand identity that projects the values of any given company. I have done this through my expertise in building an online personality centered around the chosen KPIs and audience demographics to create culturally relevant moments within each brand’s niche. In addition to that, my years of experience in photo and video work has allowed me to improve their social media and websites with better quality media, content calendars and dynamic posts. Recent companies I have worked with include Fullscreen Media (New York, NY), The Lonely Entrepreneur (New York, NY), and The Points Guy (New York, NY).

Digital Art Diaries

A Capstone Project

Throughout time, art can be seen as an indicator of zeitgeist due to its reputation of deep critique and reflection on the modernity of the moment. Thus, the art world is in an ever-changing and reactionary state. Each new stylistic trend, state-of-the-art tool or viral artist shifts the role and point of view of visual arts both in the lives of art aficionados and the average consumer. As our current society propels further into the depths of technology, the rise of digital art has come to the forefront. Exhibitions featuring virtual reality, augmented reality, algorithmic art, graphic design, glitch art, and more have fought to the forefront of the powerful wave of new media art. Emerging and constituted artists alike have brought digital media into their repertoire, placing a newfound validity on this mode of creation.

Digital Art Diaries is a collection of podcast interviews that highlight current opinions towards digital art. As new media art gains its footing in the long history of fine arts, the whole surrounding art community is shifting. While talking with traditional artists, art vendors and new media artists, the technological evolution of art is questioned with vigor. We delved deeply into their personal experiences with these new media tools, both used for art conception and digital business tools. We spoke extensively on the subjects of reproduction, accessibility and social media pressures that fall closely in line with the digital revolution.

Artist statement: Sabrina Diamond is a digital marketing strategist and trained painter in New York City. She exhibits her passion for both topics in Digital Art Diaries through her exploration of the fine art and social media communities. Her marketing work has been in the realm of social strategy, branding, influencer marketing and campaign management. Her artwork touches on themes of human connection, feelings of isolation and embodied anxiety. Digital Art Diaries is Diamond’s way of inviting members of the New York art community to chime in on the contentious debates of art and modern technology.
